SOARES: Chartering — yesterday and today

He found out right away when we took off for Pier 39 for a trip on the Rocket Boat. This open-air vehicle zips around the San Francisco Bay, pulling doughnuts and blasting cheesy rock tunes.|
This combination joy ride and waterfront tour — our guide pointed out the Oakland Bay Bridge, Alcatraz and AT&T Park — was just a tad damp for those of us in the front of the boat. Our travelling companions in the back, however, were given full raincoats and still came back soaking wet.
Also at Pier 39 is Aquarium of the Bay, where you can walk under the big tank and watch sharks and sea bass swimming above you. Good to know.

This is especially the case when planting a garden, trout fishing, taking the kids to the beach, or if youve scored seats behind home plate.
Speaking of gardens, why cant I get the perennials to grow as well as the weeds? Fertilizer, mulch, properly monitored watering, apparently
