What is the average range of a Cigarette Boat?
Jan 09, 2010 by Roloco | Posted in Boats & Boating
On a full tank of gas, how many miles can a Cigarette Boat run at average top speeds before refilling?
Twin 454's bored to 468's (1000 HP)
Detailed boat examples found here: http://j.mp/556fHP
At full throttle with 1000 hp you would probably burn upwards of 150 gph at 100mph. With 300 gallons useable fuel that gives you 200 miles in 2 hours before you run out of fuel. If the engines hold together at full blast long enough.

3 men injured in 'lake rage' incident near Hammond Marina
07.07.11
HAMMOND | Three men suffered broken bones and lacerations at the hands of an angry mob in an apparent "lake rage" incident just offshore from Lakefront Beach over the weekend, police said.
The men, from St. John and Hammond, were getting ready to call it a day shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday, they said, preparing their 38-foot cigarette boat for a return to the Hammond Marina, when a cruiser loaded with as many as a dozen people rode in from the Illinois side.
Witnesses told police the skipper of the cruiser apparently didn't know how to control his boat, with young swimmers dodging out of the craft's path as it drifted toward the anchored cigarette boat.
The victims said they were in the water, attempting to guide the cruiser away from the other boats, when someone on board took offense, and suddenly seven to 10 men -- some armed with beer bottles -- jumped into the water and attacked them.

Chilmark officially reopened rebuilt Menemsha dock Tuesday
13.07.11
On the afternoon of July 12, 2010, a raging blaze destroyed the historic Coast Guard boathouse, Coast Guard and town docks, and nearby boats and slips, and threatened the entire village of Menemsha.
One year to the day, against a backdrop of blue skies and blue water, about 80 local officials and residents gathered Tuesday for a simple ceremony to officially reopen the town's reconstructed drive-on dock.
Selectmen had in hand small medals created for the occasion to award to representatives of some of those who responded that calamitous day, including Aquinnah police Chief Randhi Belain and Peter Martell, who arrived at the scene with the Oak Bluffs fire boat.
In brief remarks, Chilmark selectmen described proudly the municipal effort to rebuild the harbor and thanked the many Islanders, emergency responders, state and federal officials, contractors, and engineers who helped at a time of need.

Deputies said he pulled the woman’s hair, slapped her face and threatened to beat her during an argument. He was booked into the Summit County Jail.A district employee told deputies June 29 that someone removed the door to a shed at a Greensburg Road school and stole a leaf blower.
Also on June 29, a Massillon Road woman reported a prescription bottle of Xanax pills was missing from her home.
Deputies investigated two fuel thefts at a gas station/convenience store on E. Turkeyfoot Lake Road June 27. Employees said a man in a gold Chevrolet Trail Blazer pumped about $60 worth of fuel and drove off without paying. A woman in a black Jeep SUV also failed to pay after putting about $20 in gas in her vehicle.

Amsterdam and Back Again: A Tournament Report about the Pro Lifestyle, Part 1
So I was finally back on the Pro Tour and getting prepared for Amsterdam. Already quite satisfied with the free trip to Europe, I still wanted to do well, having high hopes after my recent success at the Canadian Nationals. Robert Anderson was qualified as well and we decided to train together at his house, mobilizing some of the best up-and-coming young talents in Montreal to help us with the task of mastering the metagame of the new extended format. Alexander Hayne and Joey Smith were the main troopers, taking part in the daily 10-hour practices, serving at time as punching bags, but more often than not refused to get pummelled by the two PTQs winners and fought back despite their statuses of unqualified commoners.
During the playtesting sessions we built and tried quite a few decks found on Magic-League and on the Modo daily event lists, our main sources of information about the new format. We quickly reached the conclusion that Pyromancer’s Ascension and the Ad Nauseum combo decks were the most powerful and that we needed to play something that could beat them. If we could not find something superior, then we would have to play tweaked versions of these decks. A common problem with combo decks, however, is that if they get too much hype before big events you may well end up playing in a field filled with hate cards, and your day may be quite a few rounds shorter than you thought. Anyway, a week before flying to Amsterdam, I was pretty set on playing one of these two decks, not realizing yet that they were now last week tech and that pro players, all over the world, would have reached the same conclusions as us and would be ready to deal effectively with these combo decks.
