Angling action hitting high gear on First Coast
31.12.69
The local spring-summer fishing season is wide open. Area angling action on almost all fronts is offering outdoorsmen unparalleled sport in freshwater, saltwater, offshore, inshore, beaches, lakes, rivers and probably some other watery spots as well.
With so much red hot fishing available in the regional angling realm, plenty of nearby fishing tournaments, derbies, benefit charity events and other outdoor bashes are on tap almost every week from now through summer and into early fall.
Here are a few on the near-term slate.
WOLFSON BASS TOURNEY
The popular Wolfson Children’s Hospital Bass Tournament is set for Saturday out of the Palatka City docks. It’s the 23rd year this spring-annual partner boat tournament has been held. Over the years, it’s collected angler fees to contribute more than $140,000 to Wolfson’s Children’s Hospital.
