Where Can i Buy a "PADDLE WHEEL TRANSDUCER" for a Garmin 300c Fish Finder?

i already have the Garmin 300c Fish Finder for my boat but now needs to buy the "Paddle Wheel Transducer" to be able to get my speed showing on the fish finder, where can i buy one of these transducers online? thank you for your time


You'll be able to buy one from West Marine or from Garmin. To get the correct one for the finder, you'll need to know the 'ducer part #. You can contact the customer service help to get that info and even order at that time.

The spring run of striped bass still is coming in, with the numbers growing steadily and catch on the Delta improving. It slowed a bit over the weekend, but the water is clearing and warming, which is good news, according to Barry Canevaro with Fish Hookers Sportfishing in Isleton.

"I'd say we're about halfway through," Canevaro said. "The spawned-out fish are coming back in from downriver. I think it's only going to get better."

Trolling has been good near Decker Island and the Rio Vista bridge, and on the San Joaquin and Sacramento rivers. Bait fishing near Santa Clara and San Andreas shoals also has been productive, and there have been a few black bass brought in on the San Joaquin River.

Garmin began life as a start-up GPS manufacturer and now find themselves among the elite of large corporations offering a seemingly never ending array of electronic gadgets across a wide range of industries. Recently stepping up their assault on the Australian marine segment, Garmin have introduced a range of keenly priced, easy to use fish finders culminating with the top of the line Garmin Echo 550c.

This unit is particularly easy to use all the way to the mounting system which includes a quick release tilt mount and complete 360 degree rotation on the base, an addition some other manufacturers will gladly add their standard RRP price. The whole package includes a transom mount transducer and is easy for the home handy-man to install with the use of a few tools. We had the unit mounted on a small RIB used for fishing in enclosed waterways and the unit was ready to go straight out of the box.

Garmin Fishfinder 400C with Dual Beam Transducer-Retail $373.32! Sale Only $295.78!

I purchased this last year, and it has been installed on a pontoon boat for a full season. This unit replaced an older finder that was already installed when I bought the boat. Installation was relatively easy with the boat on its trailer. Because we operate on a lake that has many shallow areas, the depth and contour indication is very valuable. Color display inhances the information being presented. The unit also measures water temp and displays underwater objects (fish?) accurately. I have other Garmin devices (auto and aircraft GPS), and this seems to match their functionality and reliability. I have used my Garmin 496 in marine mode in conjunction with the finder, and they provide quite a bit of situational information.

Garmin depth finder I snooped through a lot reviews, I had specific requirements and this 400c does exactly what I wanted at a great price. I also have a Garmin 478 chart plotter that interacts with this 400c, I am impressed with the color definition. It also see’s my downrigger cannon balls and flasher at the depth I have them set at. Shows the fish activity around them. Couldn’t ask for more than that!

Garmin 400C Fishfinder I had to return the first 400C that I installed. It stopped working after 2 days. The replacement works fine, but I wonder about the long-term reliability.
