In Philadelphia, Food Trucks are Rolling
31.12.69
FOOD trucks used to be fleeting purveyors of adventurous cuisine, so hard to locate that following the right Twitter feed was the only way to find them. Now, they are a nearly inescapable part of the culinary landscape in many cities, as common as trucker hats once were among their clientele.
In fact, the indie food-truck operators who tweet their location of the day to those in the know in Philadelphia have been retweeted by the likes of Le Meridien, a luxury hotel in Center City across from a plaza where many trucks set up.
That a hotel would promote trucks across the street in addition to its own upscale brasserie is an indication that food trucks, as overexposed as they seem, have their merits: they churn out reliably good, affordable food that you wouldn’t find on an average menu. And in Philadelphia, the scene is far from reaching its saturation point.

TRAILER REPORT
31.12.69
MAGIC MIKE
Channing Tatum plays a successful male stripper who wants something more from life ... furniture design? This looks like fun, and it's supposed to be vaguely autobiographical, as Tatum worked as a stripper before he got into acting. A chick flick, no doubt, but Steven Soderbergh directs and Alex Pettyfer, Matthew McDonaughey, Olivia Munn and Cody Horn can be glimpsed among the beefcake. GRADE: B
THIS IS 40
Let's hope only the trailer is a dud, because this looks sooo not funny. A few years after Knocked Up, we catch up with Pete (Paul Rudd) and Debbie (Leslie Mann) as age 40 approaches. She lists all the things they'll do better: Exercise more, get the kids outdoors, get more involved with school, have more patience, and blah, blah, blah. Melissa McCarthy and Jason Segel pop up long enough to keep you from crying, but is this really the best Judd Apatow can do? GRADE: C

City adopts revised zoning codes
31.12.69
*The elimination of the C residential zone, where older-model trailer homes were allowed. Under the new code, Class “A” manufactured homes meeting certain criteria (built after 1990, with sloped roofs, at least 20 feet wide, etc.) will be allowed in either A or B residential districts. In B residential district, developers will be able to replace existing older trailer houses with at least a Class “B” mobile home. However, any new mobile homes will only be allowed in developed trailer courts or mobile home subdivisions.
*New casinos and adult entertainment businesses will be restricted to development in a designated "overlay" located on the east
