How long would a trolling motor last on a 12' aluminum boat?
Feb 18, 2010 by dpsa98 | Posted in Boats & Boating
Just curious if you had 3 grown people on a 12' boat and a new trolling motor battery with a 42lb thrust trolling motor (transom mount) how long would it last while frishing or running around out on the lake? About how many hours on a calm day?
you should get about two hours run time out of a good 12v deep cycle battery. for extended time on the water look for a trolling motor with pulse modulation take a look at this min kota site that describes this feature

Newly renovated boat ramp opens
23.02.28
The county boat ramp located off Golf Course Road at the West Ocean City Harbor opened at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, May 27, just in time for the busy Memorial Day weekend.
"The goal of the project all along was to have these facilities available by the holiday weekend, and we are proud to announce that goal was met," said Public Works Director John Tustin. "The recreational parking lot was packed all three days, as boaters, both residents and visitors alike, descended upon the ramps to spend time on the water.
The four-month project was completed to assure continued and enhanced recreational boating access at the West Ocean City Harbor. The project cost approximately $450,000 and included constructing a new six-lane boat ramp with supporting bulkhead, fixed piers and floating docks. The project also included compliance with Americans with Disabilities standards to assure access to all.

Urban Fly-Fish Guiding

My wife works for a big financial firm and when we go to holiday events with her co-workers, I dress up and look every bit a part of their regular social and work environments. Nearly anyway, minus the sandals, cracked and smelly feet, dirt under my finger and toe nails and gash on my face from latest spey cast gone awry with 2/0 hook.
As we begin to have a few drinks and gather around to chat, the obvious question comes up, “What do you do for work?” The reaction to what comes from my mouth ranges about as far as you can imagine.
“That is AWESOME!”
“No, I mean now, not what you did in Colorado.”
“Can you do that here?!!” “Can you stay busy and make any money?”
“What would you guide for here, there aren’t any trout streams are there?”
“Do you have a card?”
“Have you seen ‘A River Runs Around It?” No, I haven’t!
“So is that just on the weekends?”
“I thought they only fly fished in Montana?!!!”
“You must eat a lot of fish!”
“I fly fished once, in Montana, 20 years ago….”
“Where do you take people? ‘We go everywhere, Puget Sound is one of our favorites.’ You can fly fish in saltwater!!??”
I think you get the point, not a job those in the 7th largest city in the U.S. can really even concieve of having. And to be totally honest, sometimes I wonder why or how in the hell I came to do this. There is so little that is similar about this to what I did in Colorado and other Rocky Mountain states with one exception, every direction you look there is water beckoning to be fished, maybe more so here and there in lies the start of the problem. There, in the Rockies, it was EASY in nearly every way. Here it is a bitch in nearly every way, allow me to point out how.
