May 23, 2010 by Thomas | Posted in Boats & Boating
I want to get a little something to go cruise a lake. I would like to know if a Toyota Corolla can tow a small trailer with a small aluminum boat or a pair of jetski's. I have seen them towing those little moving trailers that must be loaded down with
YES, your 2006 corolla can tow up to 1,500 lbs, your trailer loaded with the jets skis or a 16' alum boat we weight less than your tow limit.

Two die in Snake River after not wearing life jackets
23.02.16
The sad news that two people have died in the Snake River this weekend is making news today. A 2-year-old girl drowned at the scene and her father was still missing Monday morning when the search was scaled back. It all happened during a boating trip that was taking place after 10 p.m. on Friday night.
KREM reported that four people were in a small 14-foot aluminum fishing boat when the boats anchor caught and pulled the boat under water. The boat appears to have sunk almost immediately, putting the four people into the water. Two men were able to make it to the shore, but the other two boaters were not quite as lucky.
To make matters worse, nobody in the boat was wearing a life vest, and the little girl was only given an improper flotation device around her waist that did not work.

Overdue fishing boat found near WhittierA Whittier-based Coast Guard Auxiliary crew towed the disabled 20-foot aluminum jet boat, Thumper, with three fishermen aboard 11 miles to Whittier Harbor Thursday.
Anthony Jenson, Dusty (last name unknown) and Andy Webber were reported overdue from their fishing trip to Coast Guard Sector Anchorage command center watchstanders by the Whittier Harbormaster at 9:50 a.m. The men had reportedly left Schmitty Cove in the boat to set shrimp pots and possibly transit to Blackstone Bay.
The Whittier Auxiliary Flotilla and an Air Station Kodiak MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew, forward deployed to Cordova, found the three men at 12:45 p.m. anchored in Pigot Bay due to engine failure. The auxiliary crew operating a Coast Guard 25-foot Response Boat-Small safely towed the three men and their vessel to Whittier, arriving at 2:45 p.m.

Lillian S, a 100-year-old wooden boat moored to the end of “N” float in Port Angeles Boat Haven for as long as casual observers of the waterfront can recall, was hauled out last week and is now on the “hard” of Platypus Marine’s yard.Robert Montgomery, who has owned the 90-footer for the past couple of years, is doing some minor repairs as well as a little painting around the boot stripe.
However, the primary reason the Lillian S is out of the water is to have her hull documented for the Historic American Engineering Record, or HAER, for inclusion in the Library of Congress.
HAER is a program administered by the National Park Service and

Will Lower Long Term Rates do Anything for Anyone?
Both steps would signal to markets that money could be borrowed cheaply for a longer period of time, giving businesses and individuals more confidence to finance major purchases . Still, economists doubt how much practical impact they would have. Interest rates are already at historic lows and that hasn't generated more buying activity. The aggressive action has the potential to spur growth by driving down interest rates even more, but it comes with considerable risk. It could rattle investors about the health of the economy and lead to a sell-off on Wall Street. Panicked financial markets could prompt businesses and consumers to retreat further. That could push the country back into recession. We have had almost 2 years of free money and no one is running over their mother to grab any of it. The law of diminishing returns comes into play here. If you could borrow at 5% instead of 10% that is something. Borrowing at 3.2% instead of 3.5% is really not going to get anybody too excited. How's that ultra low rates being a structural part of the US economy working for you? I told you this would happen. When I go fishing at the Quabbin Reservoir there is a point in the day when I cross over to the other side of the lake. To do that I pass between two large islands (Mount Zion and Mount L). This section of the reservoir is the deepest part that I go through. The depth finder will read up to 140 feet deep at this point. Now there is no...
