What is an estimated cost to get a 16ft aluminum fishing boats seams welded to stop water leaks ?
Apr 13, 2010 by evillurks73 | Posted in Fishing
The boat is a 1982 Starcraft, I have already installed a bilge pump but would like to get the problem fixed not just patched. Any advice would be helpful.
welding every underwater seam is going to be expensive, instead try coating the outside of the seams with either a good caulk [ rtv for one] or using a product like devcon aluminum patch. any work has to be on the outside otherwise the water will find

Everett man reported missing after river outing
23.02.91
An Everett man has been reported missing after he failed to meet up with a friend last Friday for a fishing and camping trip along the Snohomish River, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office.
Tiboe Emanoff , 33, is believed to have put his 8-foot white aluminum drift boat in the Skykomish River on Friday at the Lewis Street boat launch in Monroe. Emanoff was supposed to meet a friend Friday evening at the Bob Heirman Wildlife Preserve along the Snohomish River, but never showed up.
On Monday morning, another friend called authorities to report Emanoff missing. A sheriff's deputy found Emanoff's truck and empty trailer at the Monroe boat launch later in the day.

Woman stranded 6 days on remote BC beach
23.02.59
The man and woman, who were both from Courtenay, B.C., had anchored their larger boat at Otard Bay about eight days ago. The next day, they decided to take their skiff to nearby Tian Bay, on the west coast of Haida Gwaii, according to Jeff Olsen of the Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre
"The next day, on the Monday, they went in their small aluminum launch with a small outboard, to go beachcombing," he said.
But the skiff overturned, and the couple weren't wearing lifejackets, despite their availability on the small boat. The woman managed to hold on to the boat and, as it drifted closer to shore, swim to the beach. Her partner didn't make it, she later said.
Once on the beach, which is just south of Fredrick Island on the west coast of Graham Island, the woman was unable to send out any sort of distress signal.

Life at The Lake
We spent a week’s vacation on the Leelanau Peninsula. Two years ago Brian’s family took us up to this special place and when the opportunity came again we jumped on it. Brian’s sister Megan and her husband Ben joined us at the lake house as well. We spent the week relaxing, enjoying the local towns and of course eating really well. We have not always been so lucky with vacations–as you know, it can be hard to get time off when you are working , but this time we were able to relax and enjoy Lake Leelanau. On this trip there was so much fresh local ingredients–it was fun to find an old fish shop and a small ice cream place to enjoy afternoon treats.
Life on the lake is easy. In the mornings I would wake up and see the sun rise. The bright red rising sun would sparkle pink off the calm waters in the mornings. It was a relaxing view. We spent most days just hanging out around our rented house. We worked to put puzzles together and then would lay out in the sun reading books.
Mostly though, we floated in the lake with large truck-tire inner tubes bobbing around the dock in front of our house. The sandy beach gave way to deep seed weed spotted areas. The water was never very cold, it was always just right to relieve the heat from the hot sun. As we ladies floated, Brian would swim around investigating the waters beyond the
sand. He would occasionally bring use blue crawfish that he had caught, to share with us their beauty.
