The Daniel T. Grobe Classic Equals Good Times
23.02.27
On Saturday, June 11, the fifth annual Daniel T. Grobe Classic was held at our house. The classic is really a large beer party at which the principal entertainment is a game called beer pong. Beer pong is played by putting paper cups of beer at either end of a ping pong table and taking turns attempting to throw a ping pong ball into the opponent’s cup. If a ball lands in your cup, you are obligated to drink the beer. A mock prize is awarded to the winner, who is kind of the last man (or woman) standing. There were three kegs of beer plus stand-by cases of cans, pizza and other food from DiMaio’s , home-baked cakes and muffins, fireworks in the evening, many toddlers and babies (the youngest was a four-week-old girl whose Nana attended to her), enough cars on the lawn that it won’t need to be cut for weeks, and t-shirts distributed bearing the name of the event.

Grosse Pointe Farms Police Break-Up Party, Confiscate Drug Paraphernalia
08.07.11
For the second time in a matter of weeks, Grosse Pointe Farms police have submitted a case to the city's prosecutor for a violation of the open house party ordinance.
Officers were called to the 400 block of Hillcrest shortly after 2 a.m. Friday, July 8, for a loud party. Responding officers found several teens inside the house, which was dotted with drug paraphernalia and city street signs.
The 16-year-old boy who lives in the house told officers his mother was aware of his marijuana use and that his friends were at the house. Officers called her to the scene as she has a different address in Oxford Township and she was familiar with the drug paraphernalia littered throughout the house, according to a report.
