Fairfield woman charged with assaulting firefighter
A 43-year-old Fairfield woman accused of fighting with her boyfriend and then emergency responders after leaving the Casablanca Hookah Lounge on the Post Road in downtown Fairfield was arrested on a host of charges.
Lucy Hazledine, of Grasmere Avenue, was charged with assault on emergency personnel/firefighter, interfering with an officer and breach of peace. She was released after posting $150 bond and was scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court Tuesday, police said.
Police said Hazledine got into an argument and fight with her boyfriend in the hookah lounge about 11:02 p.m. Friday, followed him outside and ripped off his shirt, scratched his hand and tried to bite his face. Hazledine then returned to the hookah lounge, and, when officers confronted her there, she "went from being calm to being severely emotional, yelling, kicking at officers and screaming," said Police Sgt. Sue Lussier, a department spokesman.

Mark Hendrick, Labour MP for Preston, has secured a debate in the House of Commons next Tuesday, 19 July on the health effects of shisha smoking.
The debate follows last week’s submission of Early Day Motion (EDM) 2027, entitled 'Health Effects of Shisha Smoking,' which raises concern about the public health risks associated with the
increasing popularity of shisha culture.
Mark Hendrick MP said: “Preston has recently seen an increase in the number of people smoking shisha.
"I am concerned that many of them appear to be unaware of the considerable health risks that they are exposing themselves to.
