incense charcoal used for hookah instead of hookah charcoal?

A friend of mine used incense charcoal for a hookah. Him and his friends smoked tobacco out of the hookah. Now they all feel rather light headed and sick. Should they call 911 or will the side effects wear off? If you could explain why they started

Sounds like it could be CO2 poisoning. Yes the side effects will subside. Hookah charcoal are designed to prevent that and could be used for incense. But incense charcoal should not be used to smoke hookah.

First Night Out

After waking up at 5:30 pm, Caroline and I spent an hour or so in the room going over materials we were given on arrival, then waited out a short rain shower before heading out into the city to explore a bit and have dinner.

But before we could do this, we had to shower. The hotel we’re at now has all the conveniences you would expect in the states: cable television (about 20 channels, all in a foreign language I’m going to assume is Georgian), western-style toilet, hot and cold running water, etc. We even have air conditioning that we can set ourselves, though we didn’t figure that out until recently after sleeping without covers on top of the beds in a too-warm-for-comfort room. The only thing that seems strange: there is no shower curtain. The bathroom is tiny, with a small square shower stall. It is impossible to take a shower without the entire bathroom getting soaked, unless you just stand there and don’t plan on actually bathing yourself, or you have magical powers to make water shoot through you rather than bouncing off of you.

Not having had anything to drink in about 14 hours because we’ve been told not to drink the tap water, Caroline’s Russian language skills scored an immediate win for us buying bottles of water at a corner store when we went out in search of a restaurant.

Dinner was yummy; you can see a picture of it on my photo blog . We spent most of the time at the restaurant trying to learn some basics of the Georgian language. I’ve got numbers 1-10 down now, though I might be pronouncing them incorrectly. We came up with fun games to make it interesting. Pretty soon we were challenging each other to math problems: what’s khuti plus ekvsi minus tskhra? Ori? Correct! You can see why we’re having pronunciation issues. Of course, this is after the transliteration into letters of the English alphabet. For example, khuti is ხუთი, ekvsi is ექვსი, and tskhra is ცხრა.
