Dinghy voyage
31.05.11
Transcript LEIGH SALES, PRESENTER: Even though there's long been a global push to eradicate the crippling and sometimes fatal disease polio, it's still prevalent in four countries: India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Nigeria.
Two American billionaires have committed $350 million between them to wipe out the disease once and for all.
But they want Rotary to chip in a further $200 million.
The foundation's fundraising's stalled though, and so one Tasmanian adventurer is trying to help by embarking on a three-month sea voyage in a five-and-a-half-metre dinghy.
