WATER SKIING: Aaliyah aiming for spot in final
01.01.70
IT has been a long journey to the World Junior Championships in Muwala in New South Wales, Australia for Aaliyah Yoong, but the youngster looks ready to challenge for a spot in the final.
A change in schedule by the organisers has given Aaliyah, who at 10 is the youngest competitor in the under-17 competition, an extra day of practice at the Max Kirwan Lakes before the preliminary rounds start today.
"The water is a little quicker than Putrajaya's but others find it slower than their sites. Mastercraft's (boat make) wakes were no surprise to Aaliyah so she is handling it (well)," said Malaysian Waterski & Wakeboard Federation (MWWF) executive secretary Hanifah Yoong via Facebook.
